Which comics/graphic novels would you recommend for a person who has been out of touch with comics for some time?

I used to follow Marvel comics quite regularly about 15-20 years ago but then I started losing interest. Now, with the relatively newly formed Marvel Cinematic Universe, I once again wish to get into the newer comics to familiarize myself with newer characters and to understand and enjoy all the Easter-eggs hidden in the MCU movies.

So my question is, what comics should I pick up so that I can enjoy the movies, the TV shows and their respective Easter-eggs?
