My favorite futuristic sci-fi novels tend to be those where the story reveals the impact on society of some core idea like liberal eugenics, corporatocracy, robotics...
However I have yet to find any with a story less focused on technology and more on a highly interconnected society. These days my imagination does not gravitate towards space travel, but more about the social impact of a tightly interconnected world. Maybe one were anyone could interact even in real person in any part of the world... galaxy? at any second.
Are there any good novels focused on future society and politics around that concept? Even if just something related with the Internet of Things.
