read a book in the past year and can't remembe what it was. It dealt with a father who was a bit of a captain of industry and his son who was blocking some kind of land development he was working on. They were of native american decent. The son had technology enabling him to "see and hear" nature more acutely. They also had a technology which built consensus by isolating the part of legislation where people agreed.
