As I understand, and keep in mind I only understand the very base concept of it, dark energy makes up some 96% of the universe. It's working against dark matter and causing our universe to expand. What would happened if it suddenly started "disappearing"? Would we stop expanding, would it cause chaos, what are the variables that would be affected by this?
