Identify a Sci Fi cartoon please - need help

I need help remembering the name of a cartoon I used to watch. It was shown on weekday mornings in Australia in the mid 90's. They had space suits and they would fight in outerspace. The characters were human but were also alien. The villain was on the dark side of the moon. The main character was susceptible to become a villain if he used too much of his energy and would loose control. Thanks
