In a few places the book suggests that human civilization has moved to a post scarcity stage. This seems to be collaborated by the extensive teraforming projects underway through out the Solar system, as well as the fact that massive aid to Earth is dispatched virtually without discussion and very little supervision. In order for that to be possible, cheap and virtually limitless source of energy needs to be available, but the book does not explain what that is. Am I missing something here? Is the world truly post scarcity and if so what's the source of that?
