Why didn't the Equinox use the Caretaker's array to return to the Alpha Quadrant?

In "Equinox" (part 1), we learn that the USS Equinox was also pulled into the Delta Quadrant by the Caretaker's array, obviously at some point in time before Voyager suffered the same fate.

Given the behaviour of Captain Ransom and much of his crew, it is doubtful they would care much about the affairs of the Ocampa and the Kazons (which was Janeway's motivation for destroying the array instead of using it). Ransom did not destroy it, and so he could not have been overly worried about who or what might end up benefitting from it.

So why didn't Equinox use the array to return to the Alpha Quadrant?

One might argue that perhaps the crew didn't know who or what transported them to the Delta Quadrant, but this does not seem to be the case. In "Equinox" (part 1), they seem to have full knowledge of what led to their being on the other side of the galaxy.
