Which company do the space marines rely on survival most for?

I believe I'm right in saying that all the company's consist of 1000 marines?

But to me the Ultramarines seem to be the poster boys for Space Marines.

Got me to thinking which company, if any, would hold the most importance to the human races in terms of survival?
