It was only after a recent question asking about whether this image of a galaxy could be derived from a real photo of a galaxy that another set of questions presented themselves.
Can anyone tell me with any degree of certainty:
Whose galaxy is this? Is it our protagonists or is it another nearby galaxy that we just never happen to see in the skies above any of the planets we've visited so far?
If it is our "galaxy far, far away" when did the Empire have starships capable of jumping into intergalactic space? Have they always had it? Have they ever been known to use it in any of the canon, near canon sources to visit entirely different galaxies?
A bonus question: Is that the Millennium Falcon streaking back toward the galaxy? If so, what are our heroes standing inside of?
