In the Once Upon a Time episode "Poor Unfortunate Soul" which aired on 3/22/2015, didn't Hook turn the ship's wheel in the wrong direction? In the episode we see Captain Hook and his ship moving towards the rocks
The rocks clearly appear to the Ship's starboard (i.e. to the right as facing the bow of the ship). To avoid the rocks, Captain Hook spins the ship's wheel clockwise to the right. Yet, the next scene shows the ship turning to port (left).
This is not correct because a ship's wheel traditionally steered the ship in the direction of the spin. Hence, based on Hook spinning the wheel clockwise, the ship should have turned to the starboard and would have crashed on the rocks.
Per Wiki:
"Movement of the wheels (which were connected and moved simultaneously) caused the tiller rope to wind in one of two directions and shifted the tiller left or right. In a typical and intuitive arrangement, a forward-facing helmsman turning the wheel counterclockwise would cause the tiller to move to starboard and therefore the rudder to swing to port causing the vessel to also turn to port (see animation).1:p."
