When was Iron Man 3 set?

Here's a straightforward one: Iron Man 3 came out in May of 2013, but it's set during Christmastime.

Do we know when those events were supposed to have happened? I'm assuming it was either Dec 2012 or Dec 2013? Are there any incidental lines or offhanded comments indicating which it was?
