Why did Sauron have Amandil dismissed from Ar-Pharazon's Council?

like before the coming of Sauron Ar-Pharazon allows him to be on his council knowing he's a faithful, yet when Sauron shows up Ar-Pharazon kicks him off the Council and I was wondering if this had to do with Sauron, and a plan so that Amandil couldn't foil Saurons deceptive plans.

Can anyone explain this to me
